Microbial contamination of photographic materials
Ouředníčková, Veronika ; Dzik, Petr (referee) ; Veselá, Mária (advisor)
This diploma work is focused on a study of microbial contamination of photographic materials. In the first part of this work the information about the archive and museum microbial contaminations were collected. The most frequent contaminants of photographic collections – Penicillium chrysogenum and Aspergillus niger were studied. Their activity on photographic papers Fomaspeed and Fomabrom was evaluated. It was found that at the given experimental conditions the image layers of Fomaspeed paper are resistant to fungi mycelium growth. On the other hand, the Fomabrom paper image layer was irrecoverably damaged by action of fungi mentioned above. The degree image layer deterioration was evaluated with the aid of sensitometric curves.
Generation of Detergents Effects into Synthetic Fingerprint
Bartoš, Patrik ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the design and implementation of an application that generates fingerprint damage into images of synthetic fingerprints. The resulting application can generate images of fingerprints affected by selected detergents – desinfection, abrasive soap and solid soap. Prior to the actual implementation of the application, the selected damage types were analyzed on a self-scanned database of fingerprints damaged by these detergents. The implemented algorithms were then used to create several datasets from a synthetic fingerprint database generated by the tool SFinGe. These datasets were then tested using the VeriFinger tool.

Optimization of chloramination based on raw water quality and operational conditions of a water treatment plant
Švec, Pavel ; Látal,, Milan (referee) ; Dolejš, Petr (advisor)
The most difficult part of water treatment is to ensure that water will be delivered to consumer in unchanged form and hygienic unexceptionable. To hygienic safety is using doses of chlor, whiches are deadly for organisms and inhibite their proliferation in pipeline. Modern way how to clear water from organism is called chloramination. By the help of ammonium salts chlor is released in sequence. So large single-shot doses of chlor aren´t necessary. Due the big dose was THM and another dangerous compounds formed.
The realization of the barrier care by students from Health-Social Faculty
STEHLÍKOVÁ, Jaroslava
The term barrier care is possible to define like a set of different working processes, whose aim is to destroy pathogenic organisms and to prevent them in repeated extantion. It is in principle about prevention of the hospital (in-patient) infections. Every student from Faculty of Health and Social Studies is during the studies notified of the principles of proper washing and desinfection of hands, of safe handling with laundry and biological material, but also of basic fundamentals personal safeness, to which come under e.g. the utilization of the personal protective aids, safe liquidation of the hospital waste et al. The work with title The realization of the barrier care by students from University of South, Faculty of Health and Social Studies is splitted into two parts. The theoretic part of the bachelor work tries to include the complex theme of barrier care, with a view to way of transfer of hospital infections, types of hand washing and hand desinfection, methods of sterilizing, the use of personal protective aids and some principles of safety. The results of nursing research are compiled in the experimental part of work. In the course of the research was used the quantitative method of collecting data with the technique of hidden observation. The students, which were observed, were from Faculty of Health and Social Studies, University of South, from 2nd and 3rd classes of present study called General nurse. The research was provided in Hospital Ceske Budejovice, Inc. The chosen wards for research were neurological, internal and surgical ward. In connection with the task of the bachelor work three targets were set together with six hypotheses to pertinent confirmation or negation. The authoress tryed to find out whether the students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies, University of South adhere a correct process of hand washing and hand desinfection, to what extent the students use personal protective aids and to what extent the students adhere to some fundamentals of their safety work. In conclusion there are the most important facts, which were ascertained and proposals on possible solutions. The authoress thinks that the bachelor work could serve as an informative material for another students and at the same time it could help teachers to aim the problematic parts of lessons or at training of practical skills, in which the students were slipped.
Tuberculosis as a nursing problem
KUBEKOVÁ, Martina
Tuberculosis (TBC) is an infectious disease affecting mostly the respiration system. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), every year approximately eight million new cases of tuberculosis are reported and around two million people die of this disease. The Czech Republic ranks among the countries with the lowest annual incidence of tuberculosis. Patients suffering from tuberculosis are hospitalized in tuberculosis and respiration diseases (TRN) wards where they have to follow a certain medical regimen. They are hospitalized in isolated rooms, have to observe increased hand hygiene, use disposable tissues for coughing, spit the sputum into sputum containers, cover their month while coughing and use their own eating utensils and drinking glasses. In terms of comprehensive nursing care of tuberculosis patients, the problematic issue is observance of the barrier nursing care. While providing nursing care to a tuberculosis patient it is important that the nurse uses disposable protective aids and observes hand hygiene and disinfection principles. For these reasons the theoretical part includes the barrier nursing care, hygienic-epidemiologic techniques and principles of the medical regimen of tuberculosis patients. The research was qualitative and used interviews and monitoring. The research set were the patients and nurses in the TRN ward in Nemocnice Jihlava a.s. The objective of the thesis was to ascertain whether the TBC patients observe the medical regimen and whether the nurses observe the principles of the barrier nursing care of TBC patients. Two research issues were set in respect of the objectives. 1. Do the tuberculosis patients observe the medical regimen? 2. Do the nurses observe the principles of the barrier nursing care of tuberculosis patients? The research revealed that the monitored patients observed the medical regimen. The monitored nurses observed the barrier nursing care and hygienic-epidemiologic measures. Based on these results it can be stated that the nurses have both theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of the barrier nursing care and use the knowledge while providing nursing care to tuberculosis patients. Three hypotheses followed from the research. H1: The patients in the TRN ward observe the medical regimen. H2: The nurses know the principles of the barrier nursing technique. H3: The nurses observe the principles of the barrier nursing care. The results of the research will be provided to the nurse manager of the hospital of Jihlava and to the head nurse of the tuberculosis and respiration diseases ward of Nemocnice Jihlava a.s. as a source of information for continuous improvement of quality of the nursing care of tuberculosis patients in the tuberculosis and respiration diseases ward.
